Fire Fighter and Fire Truck Birthday Ideas

Ah - the appeal of firetrucks... doesn't seem to ever get old, even with school-aged kids! Host a fire truck themed birthday party and let kids practice their siren noises (outside, maybe?), life saving skills and water hose abilities! momstown kids always LOVE a fire truck and your kids will too!

Crafts

Try this Dalmation dog fire house pet or a Firefighter craft from DLTK-Kids! Easy to do with templates coloured and glued onto toilet paper rolls!

Or make homemade fire fighter hats using brown craft paper, paint, and tape (it's easier than it looks)!

Activities

Hold fire truck obstacle races! Build fire trucks from boxes (paint redm glue on "wheels" and "lights", precut a hole on top and open up the bottom for the child to slip in, attach string for staps). Set up a relay race jumping through 'rings of fire' (streamers tied to hula hoops) and other obstacles. Great fun!

Get out the spray and hose down your guests (weather permitting!). They can all take turns being the 'fire fighter'!

If you have a large enough group, your local fire department might be able to send a fire truck to your street for the kids to explore! Contact them to find out. Or, take a small group on an outing to a fire station if time and scheduling permits.

Decorations

Use RED streamers, balloons, and fire truck themed plates and napkins. Purchase plastic fire fighter hats from the dollar store for guests to dress up in!
