She's everyone's favourite Explorer – DORA! Our friend Dora the Explorer makes a perfect theme for a toddler or preschool party.
Crafts

Make binoculars from toilet rolls and ribbon. Have each child decorate their own set using markers, crayons and stickers.

Use paper plates and have each child make their own homemade compass!
Activities
Incoporate the theme as much like the TV show as possible by including all the landmark steps from every episode.

Make a giant Map on bristol board and pick 3 places to visit.
For example: #1 go out the gate, #2 go to the big tree & do ring around the rosy, #3 visit the creek, then back to the backyard.

Decorations

Licensed hats and the party banner are complemented by colourful balloons and white and yellow plates and napkins – easy peasy! If you have older kids, print off many Dora colouring page and ask them to colour and hang on the wall. Have a child with lots of Dora themed toys? Invite stuffed Dora dolls to the party as well (they double as decor!)
Food and Cake
What this momstown mama's cake looked like…

And was I was aiming for…

Just goes to show, the kids loved it anyways!
Lootbags
Live out the Dora theme! Instead of waiting till the end, make the lootbags part of the adventure for excited party goers! Give out little Backpacks (from the dollar store) for "Backpack! Backpack!". Inside the backpacks put binoculars (to use on the outing, another dollar store treat), a beaded bracelet to wear like Dora, Dora stickers and obviously the backpack.
