Woven Pineapple Craft
Remember “weaving” with construction paper when you were young? It’s a simple craft, super for hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills, and darn right cheap – all you need are a couple pieces of paper to keep your kids busy weaving up a storm!

momstown decided to try ‘weaving” to mimic the bumpy , criss-crossed rind of a pineapple. It turned out to be fun project that resembled a pineapple pretty well!
Materials:
3 pieces of construction paper (one for base, one for pineapple, one cut into one inch strips for weaving
Scissors
Glue stick
Green crepe or tissue paper
Directions:
1. Start by cutting the pineapple shape out. Then cut strips vertically into the pineapple to create space for the weaving.
2. Cut one inch strips. Then weave alternating through the vertical slats. Each strip should rotate to create a pattern.
3. Once done, decide which side is your “back” and glue in place to make sure they stay. Then glue on your backing paper.
4. For the leaves use crepe paper, tissue paper or even extra construction paper to get the floppy green leaves on the top.
Now you have a tropical pineapple!
