Camping can be fun but also a lot of work! Instead plan a great camping playdate with a few ideas to change your backyard into a "campground".
Pull out a tent. If you don't have a tent handy, use some blankets over a picnic table or chairs.
Grab a few paper towel rolls. The more you have, the bigger the fire.
Paint the paper towel tubes brown. (You can do this step in advance if you like).
While the paper towel tubes are drying, read a favourite camping book, such as Maisy goes Camping.
Once the paper towel tubes are dry, criss cross them and make a log stack.

Once you've got your logs stacked, add some heat. We used tissue paper of red, orange, and yellow to resemble the fire.
And now, you've got your own lovely and toasty bonfire. Add some yummy marshmallows, if you like!

A great indoor or outdoor family craft. Thanks momstown Kitchener-Waterloo!
