You might even want to host your own Olympics Party with friends, neighbours, momstown members or family. Here are some silly and fun crafts we found online- great ways to get the kids in the kitchen and have some Olympic fun while you eat!

momstown moms and kids are all a buzz with Olympic Fever!  We have been reading about the Olympics, making a torch, playing ring toss and even making flags to decorate!  Getting so crafty means getting hungry! 

Get 5 white bowls and fill with blue, yellow, black, green, red (image from Kayepants on Flickr)

 

Olympic Snack Ideas for Kids

 

Bowl Filler Ideas:

  • candy (visit a bulk food store and check for black licorice/chocolate/raisins, red candy, yellow melting wafers, blue gumballs)
  • veggies and fruits (blueberries, banana slices, olives, cucumbers/peppers/celery/grapes, tomatoes/peppers/strawberries/raspberries/grapes
  • mix it up: blueberries, tortilla chips (you can find yellow, green and red ones in many stores), chocolate chips, guacamole or raspberries, etc.
  • how about melting chocolate wafers in blue, yellow, chocolate/brown, green and red and drizzling them over popcorn.  Then put the popcorn in 5 different bowls!

Olympic Bagels from Maracay Homes (originally from Anabel Karmel)– looks like egg salad (yellow), olives (black), cucumbers (green), tomatoes (red).  I'm not sure about blue?  blueberries?  blue food colouring in cream cheese?  You could even top Pop Crisps with the same toppings for a lower fat and lower carb alternative.
