Zac Kara’s Back To School French Toast Recipe

It’s September, and us parents know that means… school’s back! Kids are getting back into the routine and that means, us parents have to get back into it as well.

16 year old Masterchef Junior contestant, Zac Kara is here to make the summer transition back into school a lot easier with this delicious before school, breakfast recipe. Believe me, this is one easy recipe your whole family will be excited to try!

Zac Kara’s tasteful french toast recipe is complete with vanilla whipped cream, and vanilla glaze. This recipe is sweet, simple and the vanilla adds a fun twist to a classic breakfast! Your family may even enjoy helping you make it.

Zac’s French Toast with Vanilla Whipped Cream & Vanilla Glaze 

Serves two

Ingredients

French Toast: 

  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 4 slices brioche bread
  • 4 tsp grapeseed oil

Vanilla Whipped Cream: 

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 tsp sugar (optional)

Vanilla Glaze:

  • 1/4 cup + 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 tsp milk

Garnishes (optional): 

  • Raspberries
  • Fresh Mint

Directions:

Vanilla Whipped Cream: 

  1. Use a stand mixer or hand mixer, whisk together the heavy cream, vanilla extract, and sugar, if using, until the cream forms peaks.

Vanilla Glaze:

  1. In a small bowl, mix together the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk.

French Toast:

  1. Whisk the eggs, vanilla, milk, cinnamon, and sugar together in a medium-sized bowl.
  2. Dip the bread into the batter, letting it sit for one minute on each side.
  3. Heat a medium sized pan on medium heat. Drizzle in the grapeseed oil, then cook the bread until golden brown on each side.
  4. Remove the french toast from the pan, and let cool.
  5. Top french toast with powdered sugar and serve with whipped cream, and vanilla glaze. Garnish the french toast with raspberries, and fresh mint if desired.
