World Cup Soccer Birthday Party Ideas

July 25, 2013momstownRecessNo comments
FIFA 2014 is here and kids of all ages are getting in on the fun! We love this idea for a summer World Cup party or to celebrate your child’s summer birthday! Soccer and World Cup birthdays are going to be popular this year.

Soccer is the fastest growing sport with Canadian, and momstown, kids so there's bound to be a few Soccer themed Birthday Parties being planned! When the World Cup comes around – or just for the little soccer fan in your life – host a World Cup themed birthday party!

Crafts

With a bunch of busy, active kids, hopefully you can get them to slow down for a craft or two! In keeping with the World Cup theme use printable flags for them to colour in – they can choose their favourite country and team.

Activities

We love this soccer ball craft for kids as one of the party activities or even the chance to make your favourite team's flag like these ones!

These mini pylons act like tees for soccer balls – kids place a ball on top – and it makes it easier to kick the ball… pick up a few and organize simple soccer skills activities to keep all ages engaged!

It's always nice to have an introductory activity at a party – you can purchase soccer or World Cup temporary tattoos, and each child can choose their favourite one to wear during the festivities!

Decorations

If it's World Cup year, you'll have no problem finding a full array of napkins, plates, tablecloths and the like to decorate your party. If not, soccer themed party decorations will fit the bill just perfectly!

Consider making a Soccer Ball Paper Mache Pinata with your kids prior to the event. Save up all the cardboard circles from the frozen pizza packages and paint them to look like soccer balls and hang around the party room.

Food and Cake

You can decorate just about any food items with mini world flags – from pizza to cupcakes!

Soccer decorating figures are available from party supply or bulk food stores – this cake had both the soccer game and the World Cup flair!

Loot bags

Children can go home with toy whistles, mini soccer balls (or full size if your budget allows), pencils, erasers, World Cup mini flags, mini medals, and flag tattoos.
