Try our multi-step literacy based craft for the Letter W for Watermelon. A fun activity for any unit or interest in healthy food, nutrition or summertime fun.

What's better on a hot sunny day than a cool, drippy slice of watermelon…? Try momstown's fun and easy (and not so drippy) W for Watermelon craft, one of our alphabet crafts that takes inspiration from favourite foods.

Inspired by those yummy slices, this is a great craft that helps children practice fine motor skills,  scissor skills, and creativity!

Instructions:

First, draw a large W on a sheet of blank paper. Then have children bingo-dab the W to fill it in and get it that juicy red colour!

Then, cut out the W and glue it on the black paper. Use green scrap paper glued on for the rind, and add black beads for the seeds!
