School is officially out for the summer! Time to ditch bedtimes and make memories all summer long. So why not embark on a wild adventure right in your backyard? 1. Game Reserves

Grab the kids and take the fan-favourite bus tour, a 9km Drive-Through Game Reserves that allows you to be witness to some amazing sights. Taking you through 7 reserves, you as the visitor can be witness to the animals as they roam free in 5 to 50 acre reserves – this is completely different from the traditional approach where the visitor is caged in the car. The Nairobi Sanctuary, Simba Lion Country, Timbavati Lion Country, Wankie Bushland Trail, Rocky Ridge Veldt, Australasia and The Americas are a must see if you want to view and photograph over 1,000 exotic birds and animals.

2. Daily Presentations

Take part in the Daily Presentations at African Lion Safari where you can enjoy four exciting bird and animal presentations; each showcasing the intelligence and natural abilities of magnificent birds and animals. The presentations vary in times so you don’t have to fear missing a single one, amaze the kids with Parrot Paradise, Birds of Prey Flying Demonstration, Elephants & Friends and the Elephant Swim!

3. Misumu Bay Wet Play

This interactive water adventure zone is sure to be a family favourite, forget the kids, moms can also enjoy all the fun in the sun when adventuring through the water park. Take a stroll through sprinklers, spouts and stream jets or trek under rain trees and tumble buckets, get the kids moving with interactive gadgets, gizmos and geysers but be sure not to wait! The Misumu Bay Wet Play park is open daily until September 3rd, weather permitting!

4. “African Queen” Boat Cruise

Come and set sail on the “African Queen” boat with the whole family and enjoy a smooth ride around Water Safari Lake. The captain will take you on an informative and relaxing cruise around the different islands while pointing out the varying primates. Get the kids excited with Ring-tailed lemurs, black and white ruffled lemur, gibbons, siamang and spider monkeys. Each boat tour is about 15 minutes long and is open daily at 10:00 a.m.

5. “Nature Boy” Scenic Railway

All aboard the “Nature Boy” scenic railway trip as it takes you on a unique adventure through nature, showcasing many different animals that are native to southern Ontario. This historic train is pulled throughout the 16 acre reserve by a miniature replica of an 1863 C.P. Huntington Steam engine. This is a relaxing part of your day that you and the family can both enjoy! The train tour is about 15 minutes and is open daily at 10:30 a.m.

6. Pets’ Corner

Wind down your day with a stroll through the Pets’ Corner and enjoy some face to face time with goats, alpacas, rabbits and deer! This is a great interactive opportunity for the kids to make some new furry friends!

7. Conservation

On top of being Ontario’s favourite destination this summer, African Lion Safari is proud to be home to 1,000 exotic birds and animals comprised of over 100 different species. They are also proud to share with you that over the past 49 years the park has been successful with breeding 30 species that are considered endangered, and more than 20 that are considered threatened. They are recognized worldwide for their conservation initiatives and breeding efforts with the Asian elephant, cheetah, white rhino, giraffe and barn owl; to name a few.
