Tissue Paper Easter Egg Art

April 1, 2014momstownRecessNo comments
Scraps of pastel tissue paper can be transformed in a pretty Easter egg picture for your mantle.

Not all Easter Egg crafts have to be about decorating Easter eggs themselves, instead focus on egg themed ART and new creativity will emerge.

Materials:
Small firm canvas board per artist
Various paper products (tissue paper, foam, coloured paper) or decorations cut into small one inch sizes in easter Pastels
Pencil
Glue
Scissors

Directions:

Canvas is optional, you could use cardstock but the canvas stands easily and can handle lots of glue and many layers of paper if you have an enthusiastic crafter.

Draw an oval egg on the canvas board.

Fill the oval in with glue if you’re working with a toddler. Glue as you go with an older more thoughtful and patient child.

The goal is to fill up the oval with various mediums and create a decorative egg.

Layer on different paper for a personal technique and look. Tissue paper can appear in a pretty transparent fashion if laid out OR it can scrunched up for a 3D effect.

Once dry display proudly on a mantle along with your favourite Easter décor.
