March 2nd is Dr. Seuss’s birthday and momstown moms and kids want to celebrate with crafts from their beloved Dr. Seuss books! We love this Cat in the Hat craft that incorporates fine motor skills, counting and patterning practice!
“Opportunity” also begins with the letter “O”, and I was not about to pass this one up. We dug out our craft supplies, and created our own “O is for Olympics” alphabet craft.
I’ve seen this all over Pinterest and decided to get the girls to tried it out for Valentine’s Day. It was the perfect craft to talk about shapes and to practice their cutting skills. It was helpful to make some lines on the paper for them to follow depending on the age. By draping it across a mantle or even hanging it vertically, it’s a quick and pretty way to add some hearts and a bit of Valentine’s into your décor.
This is a fun one to make together and actually is really pretty to hang up at home! There are a few steps to it which make it even more fun but depending on your child’s age and attention span, you may want to split up this project into two parts (mobile + ribbon hearts) or even just make the pretty hanging ribbon hearts.
Having fun with the alphabet and starting to recognize letters is the best part of our monthly Alphabet Play programs at momstown. Each month, a new letter or group of letters is the focus of our event; from books and crafts to songs and parachute time!
Celebrate Chinese New Year with some animal crafts based on the Chinese Zodiac signs. The snake is the 6th sign. Here’s an easy link craft to make your own snake.
St. Patrick’s Day is coming up, so why not do some fun shamrock crafts at home and make some decorations? This shamrock ‘guy’ has the look of the Irish – maybe he’ll bring us luck!
momstown Milton had a great Valentines’ party one year that turned out some really cute Valentine men!
A fun heart craft to do with all the Valentine hearts floating in your house (because you know you will be asked to cut lots out!)
