If you're hosting a playdate or just entertaining your kids, momstown has some fun ways to discover St. Patrick's Day:
Poem – St. Patrick's Day
St. Patrick's Day is here, you see.
We'll pick some shamrocks, one, two three.
We'll count the leaves and look them over,
And maybe find a four-leafed clover.
I'll sew green buttons on my vest,
Green for St. Patrick is the very best.
I'll wear a green hat, very high,
And dance a jig – at least I'll try!
Scavenger Hunt
Set up a scavenger hunt for your kids and have them run around the house looking for the final pot of gold! Introduce them to the game with a note (shaped like a shamrock) that gives them an age-appropriate clue like 'visit the place where we have a bath' and leave the next note in the tub for them to find and so on. Fill a bowl with 'gold' Corn Pops cereal or chocolate candy for your Pot of Gold.
For younger kids, create a path of shamrocks to follow to the prize. Similar to the picture above (these are lilypads but imagine them as shamrocks!) you can number each one to introduce or reinforce number order.
