Simple Shamrock Craft and Poem for Toddlers

March 13, 2015momstownRecessNo comments
Toddlers across all momstown events are going green with crafts for St. Patrick’s Day! We love this craft that incorporates learning about shapes, fine motor skill development and some sensory fun! Try this inexpensive craft with your child!

Materials:

green pom poms (dollar store)

green buttons (dollar store)

glue

printed shamrock shape on paper (try this shamrock template from Spoonful)

any other green embellishments: green stickers, green tissue paper, green rhinestones, etc.

Toddler Shamrock Craft

Directions:

1.  Ask your child to help you sort the different embellishments into piles (great sorting practice).  To make it a really fun fine motor skill exercise, ask your toddler to use tongs to pick them up!

2.  Dip the embellishment into glue and ask your child to fill in the shamrock using any green craft materials they like!

3. Let your shamrock dry and practice saying this Shamrock poem!

I am a shamrock
Who hides on the ground.
When you come and find me,
Don't make a sound.
Pick me up very carefully;
Don't let me fall apart.
