We've already done the footprint crafts for when he was a baby and even the handprint cards when he was a toddler. Now that he's 3, I decided to look online for a poem that would inspire me. Once I had the poem, I knew what photo I wanted to take and getting my son to model was easy! I enjoy editing photos on my iPad and this homemade gift allowed me to play around with the newer photo editing apps. Now anyone can be a photo editor!
Materials:
Mobile device (I used an iPad mini)
Photo apps: Over (99 cents), Snapseed , plus basic camera feature OR use pic monkey on the destop computer or laptop
Photo printer (or print at your local store)
Frame
Directions:
1. Take a photo of your child in their Papa's shoes.
2. Using the various apps (we love Snapseed for iOS or you can use Pic Monkey on any desktop computer). Play with colour or use black and white for a beautiful look for Dad! Copy in this poem using the font of your choice.
As you can clearly see.
Pretending I'm as big as you,
For soon that day will be.
I hope to be like you someday,
Strong, Patient, full of love.
You're the greatest Papa on earth,
With quite the shoes to fill.
3. Print at home or send to your local printer (Walmart or Costco are inexpensive) and complete with a frame.
Result: a memorable keepsake for a special Papa.
