My kids LOVE Robert Munsch books—and I love that they are the ones they pick off the shelf again and again to read. They love the silly, the messy, the fun that is true Munsch style. And they are lucky enough to have a dad who will read them as the author intended—big voices, dramatic pause, silly gestures. In fact, Munsch books are the ones their dad (an elementary school principal) reads to students at school—kids of ALL ages, often a gymnasium full of them.
While they are often silly and fun, Munsch books always have a great message, and Pajama Day! is no different. Andrew has brough his favourite pajamas to school for pajama day, and they are SO perfect that as soon as he puts them on, he falls into a deep sleep. So deep that he snoozes through the entire day of school – even recess!
Everyone can relate to that "perfect" pair of PJ's—and for little ones this might just be the incentive to find the "magic"; ones that keep them sleeping the longest. (One can hope, right?)

The pattern on Andrew’s pyjamas is Munsch-themed! It includes pies (as in More Pies!); Tina’s socks from Smelly Socks; chili peppers as a reference to Class Clown; and a moose from what else: Moose! Even the drapes in Andrew’s room match his perfect pyjamas!
