Rainbow Sensory Bin for Babies and Toddlers

March 5, 2014momstownRecessNo comments
Our little ones love all sensory play at momstown Baby Basics and Toddler Time programs. We love this rainbow-theme sensory bin.

Materials:

multi coloured feathers
multi coloured beaded necklaces
multi coloured cereal "Os"
dried pasta (coloured if possible)
multi coloured spoons
multi coloured pom poms
multi coloured large wooden beads
multi coloured plastic cups
large plastic bin, bathtub or blow up pool.

Directions:

1. Get a large plastic bin, bathtub or even blow up pool.

2. Pour in your base- cereal, pasta.  Add in your multi coloured items.  Be sure that you have larger items so that babies are safe from chocking.

3.  Let babies and toddlers explore with all of their senses!  Fill up items in cups and pour them out.  If your bin is large enough, put baby in the middle and let them feel the textures.

Be sure to talk about what is happening ie.  "this is a soft feather", "look at the red beads", "let's find the green ones".
