R is for Road!

December 16, 2013momstownRecessNo comments
Here’s a great, simple idea from momstown for the cars-loving kids in your life! Make a road made out of the letter R for a transportation theme or birthday party!

Materials:

brown, white and black construction paper

glue

scissors

car stickers

Directions:

This is easy to make with construction paper, glue and stickers. Cut out the letter "R" and glue on white strips for the road lines.

Then decorate with stickers, and you've got a usable road for those dinky cars! We had digger stickers which we pretended were constructing the road, but we made another one later with Lightning McQueen stickers as a race track!

This got lots of action after the crafting was done!

Taking stickers off sticker sheets is great fine motor practice but can be tricky for young children. Here's a tip: peel off the white sticky 'outline' (the part surrounding the stickers) so all that is left on the sheet are just the stickers to pull off. It makes it a lot easier!
