Since winter began, I’ve been reading up a lot on skin care, not only for me but for my daughter too.
She’s now 14 and has been watching YouTube makeup tutorials and browsing beauty feeds on Instagram. I want to make sure that her ideas about beauty are healthy and realistic. She is GORGEOUS inside and out (thanks to her mom’s genes), but with all of the heavily edited photos and high expectations on social media, she’s been getting down on herself from time to time. She doesn’t wear much makeup right now, but I have a feeling she’ll be experimenting with it more soon. I want her to love the uncomplicated beauty of her bare face.
Lately, I’ve been spending time with her to encourage self-care and confidence together through some good old beautifying fun. We cleanse and pamper our skin, talk about our day and strengthen a positive image of ourselves by going all natural, all the way with our face.
At first, I gravitated towards the Korean-inspired wet sheet masks that I’ve been seeing EVERYWHERE. They seemed fun, are said to be good for your skin and are extremely popular. What I didn’t know was that many of these products are packed with harmful ingredients that are infective and unnecessary- ingredients that include harsh, hormone-altering chemicals and preservatives, parabens and fragrance that can irritate the skin.
I searched for simple and clean products that have long-term health benefits, are safe for the skin and provides my daughter’s skin with everything it needs. One of the best products I’ve come across (that doesn’t put my daughter’s sensitive skin at risk) is the Bare Me All-Natural Dry Facial Balm Mask. I noticed how much love these dry masks were getting online among influencers so I gave it a try and I’m SUPER glad I did.

Why does this mom love the Bare Me Dry Facial Balm Mask so much? Let me count the ways! (I’m a little obsessed)
1# It’s 100% All-Natural Baby!
There are no harsh chemicals in this product. It’s vegan, cruelty-free and made with 100% plant-based ingredients like grape seed oil, maracuja, baobab, and white hibiscus extract and shea butter.
2# It’s convenient
Meaning, there’s no mess and no fuss. Have you ever used a wet face mask and struggled to keep it from dripping and sliding off your face? We sure have. The Bare Me Dry Facial Balm Mask loops around your ears, so it fits perfectly and covers your whole face. It’s perfect for multi-tasking- more time to paint your toes.
#3 It’s waterless
Wet sheet masks contain mostly water, up to 90% in fact. But what many people don’t realize is that as the water evaporates, it takes with it many of the skin’s natural oils, drying out your skin. Due to the water and chemical preservatives, these wet masks contain only around 1-7% active ingredients. The dry masks are waterless, meaning there is no need for chemical preservatives and more room for actual skin nutrients.
#4 It’s reusable
We’ve used our Bare Me Dry Facial Balm Masks up to three times. I love this because I don’t have to buy the masks as often and I can get more bang for my buck (yay, mom wins).
5# It actually works
This eco-friendly mask uses Biomimetic Micro Vectors (aka BMV technology) to replace water with 96% active ingredients that repair and nourish your skin for up to 8 hours. Even though it’s dry-to-the-touch, this polyester anti-microbial mask is infused with an all-natural formulation that transfers properly into the skin throughout the day. Every time we use these babies, we look replenished and feel DEEPLY hydrated. It has even helped soothe and tone down my daughter’s rosacea, which she has been very happy about.
So how do you use these? After you’ve cleansed your face, using the Bare Me Dry Facial Balm Mask is simple:
Step 1: Remove the mask from the packet. Don’t throw your packet away just yet (see Step 6).
Step 2: Slip the mask over your ears using the slits.
Step 3: Gently massage into your skin for a minute or so. If you have a jade roller, now’s the time to use it!
Step 4: Leave the mask on for 15 minutes. Have a snack, drink water and watch some TV together.
Step 5: Remove mask for a fantastically hydrated, post-mask glow!
Step 6: Fold your mask back into the packet for reuse.
You don’t even have to wash your face after applying the dry mask. In fact, its recommended that you just sit back and let the mask slowly release all of that good stuff into your skin for the next 6-8 hours.
If you have a daughter who is starting to learn about makeup and skincare or are just looking for date night ideas or, I suggest you try creating a weekly bare-faced beauty routine with each other. We had a blast practicing safe skincare and learning about clean beauty. I think you will too.
