Who best to offer camping advice than 5 moms and 10 kids who headed out to Sibbald Point Park to battle the wilderness with their first momstown Georgina overnight camping trip! After checking in and setting up our little commune, we settled in to have some fun…and fun we had!
The kids immediately went exploring the surrounding forests with warnings from Jazmin to stay away from the "Poison Ivan". Pine cones were collected, knees, hands and faces were dirtied and best of all, lots of laughter and smiles were all around. My son Tyler quickly took on the role of social director and had the kids running and playing while the mommies shared a relaxing moment after a feast of hamburgers and hot dogs! Then it was time for fire and in true survivor style, out came the flint and machete (OK, so it was a Bic lighter) and the pine cones and twigs the kids had gathered.
Within minutes we had a roaring fire and the kids started tucking up around it to make s'mores courtesy of Amber and Melissa!! The evening quickly wound down and it was time for the kiddies to start heading to bed…and then there was peace! Us mommies had a wonderful time relaxing around the fire, laughing and telling stories. The best part of the evening, aside from being able to burn the dinner dishes, was being with such a great group of women all truly enjoying each other's company! After some wishful thinking of staying another night, the mommies all headed off to bed!
