Rich ice cream sandwiched between decadent fudge brownie hearts—momstown’s Heart Melters are an elegant, surprisingly easy Valentine’s show stopper

Preparation Time: 10
Cooking Time: 0
Yield: 10 ice cream sandwiches
Description:

All you need for this easy and delicious treat is a pan of brownies, a heart-shaped cookie cutter, ice cream and some festive sprinkles, and you will have a show-stopping Valentine's Day dessert. Make it special by serving it up on some fun Valentine's plates from your local dollar store.

A word on the brownies: Use a fudgey recipe or mix that will stand up to being made into a sandwich, i.e., one that's not too cakey. I used the Ghirardelli mix from Costco and it worked fantastically.

Ingredients:

Your favourite brownie recipe for a 9×9 pan or larger
Ice cream of your choice—I opted for classic vanilla
Valentine’s sprinkles

  • Bake your pan of brownies according to instructions and let cool completely.
  • Use a cookie cutter to cut out a heart.
  • Use a serrated knife to cut the heart in half across its equator, so you have two thinner heart-shaped brownie pieces.

  • Top the bottom brownie heart with ice cream, then top with the other brownie heart.
  • Roll the open sides in sprinkles.
  • Serve and enjoy!

And if you're really not feeling the sandwich, just serve your heart-shaped brownie with a scoop of ice cream and top with chocolate syrup and sprinkles.
