MIXED MEDIA EASTER EGG Decorating

March 24, 2014momstownRecessNo comments
Easter is coming and so is the messy, but fun, egg decorating! You can practice by grabbing all of your craft materials and starting to work on patterns and ideas to make your egg unique this year!

We love this craft to work on shapes, patterning and allow your child to work with all different types of media; buttons, foam, stickers, paint, anything goes!  Young preschoolers or toddlers will also love the sensory experience as you explore!

Materials:

foam egg shapes (at the dollar store or cut them yourself)

Easter foam shapes

pom poms

buttons

stickers

paint and brushes

Bingo dauber

glue

scissors

Directions:

1.  Set out a few foam egg shapes and work with your child on the look that they want to create!

2.  You can go crazy with decorations or keep to patterns and practice alternating.  We love using pom poms and buttons but what about glitter glue, paint or cutting foam into different shapes, like the cross in the photo.  You could use stickers or even Bingo daubers to make dots!

Get creative with your Easter eggs and explore the textures and sensory benefits of different materials.
