While some moms dread the lunch box routine as we get close to Back to School time, some families in Canada have trouble having enough food to fill that lunch box – and we want every child to have a full tummy all day long. You can help by participating in Quaker’s Chewy for Charity campaign!
Consider yourself lucky if you're worried about finding the perfect lunch box, looking at litterless lunch options, or finding new and unique ways to keep kids interested in lunch at school. Some moms are more worried about having enough food to fill that lunchbox.
Did you know that 36% of the 1.7 million Canadians turning to Food Banks in 2013 were children and youth? That's too many empty lunch boxes heading to school each day.
momstown chapters across Canada are hosting Quaker Chewy events this August to support the Chewyforcharity.ca initiative – you can join us in person or participate online! For every upload, Quaker will donate 10 pounds of food to Food Banks Canada.
How can you participate?
- Attend one of the Quaker Chewy events being held in momstown communities this August with your kids (full list below). Perfect for ages 0-6! You'll enjoy circle time, Picasso painting, design a special Quaker craft, and get a free swag bag!
- Click on the dropdown box on the right hand side of this screen to find your local momstown chapter and how to sign up for the event! We'll have all the details at the events so you can upload your child's artwork right from your mobile phone and take part in the Chewyforcharity.ca fundraising.
- Join in the fun online and upload your child's artwork to the Chewy for Charity website – for every upload, Quaker will donate 10 pounds of food to Food Banks Canada. You'll also have the option to have your child's artwork printed on a custom canvas lunchbag and have it shipped in time for the school year (charges will apply).
