How to make a ghost craft from pinecones and felt

We made oodles of these ghosts last year and are ramping up to make them again! Super fast, super easy, super cheap and super spooky(but still happy)!

What you need:

  • Big Pinecones
  • White felt or white tissue paper
  • Pipe cleaner
  • Marker or googly eyes/glue (optional)

We have a great pinecone finding park near us and we picked up a huge basketful of (free!) pinecones. You can also buy them at the craft store if you wish. Round ones are the best but any shape will do.

Cut the felt or white material roughly into squares big enough to cover the entire pinecone. Cut a small slit in the centre of the square.

Wrap one end of a pipe cleaner around a pinecone branch and thread the other end through the slit in the felt. The white felt will drape over the pinecone to leave a ghostly shape underneath. Up to your child if you would like to draw a face or glue on eyes or just leave plain.

Hook the pipe cleaner onto anything – trees, lights, hooks and you can create a sea of ghosts!

momstown Edmonton South also tried this craft out too!
