How to make a bat craft from a coffee filter this Halloween

January 7, 2014momstownRecessNo comments
Happy Halloween! Here’s a cute bat painting activity to try at home.

Make a multi-coloured bat craft using a few simple materials:

purple bat

What you need:

  • coffee filters, cut in half
  • clothespin- wooden style, painted brown, black, or purple
  • watercolour paints
  • paintbrushes
  • google eyes (optional)

Paint the clothespin a dark colour (brown, black or purple will do). Have the kids use their darker watercolor paints to paint the coffee filter halves. Once the paint has dried, insert the coffee filter into the head of the clothespin.

Add some googly eyes, and hang your bat from a string if you like and attach it to a ceiling fan or ceiling so that it looks like it is flying!
