I’ll admit that my heart melted last year, when this was my gift for Valentine’s Day from my little kindergartener! It was just so cute, that I had to share how it was made, with my momstown moms! A simple craft that would send Grandma or even a special caregiver or teacher to get some Kleenex for sure!
Materials:
red glitter or red or pink foam board
jewels, hearts, sequins, rhinestone and flower embellishments
plastic craft string- boondoggle or similar
red, white and pink beads
hole punch
glue or glue gun
small wallet size photo of your child or of you! You can even make this for your child with a photo of mom and dad!
Directions:
1. Cut a heart shape from your red foam sheet. Be sure that you measure it to allow for the photo and some decorating around it.
2. Punch a hole in the top of the heart and loop through the boondoggle or string. Add some beads for decoration (great to learn about patterns and colour), if you like and tie it off at the desired necklace length (make it long enough to fit over an adult's head.
3. Glue your child's photo to the middle of the heart, trimming to make sure you have room to decorate! You could even use a photo of you or Dad and give this necklace to your child!
4. Decorate around the photo with heart shape stones, rhinestones, sequins, etc.
