Exploring Fern Resort with an Amazing Race

June 10, 2014momstownReal LifeNo comments
You may know by now that the momstown team loves the annual visit to Fern Resort. For this spring’s conference, we were able to see all around the resort and find even more reasons to visit Fern Resort with our families this summer!

While the momstown national team have all been to Fern a few times together, we haven't really had the time during our conferences to explore the property and enjoy all the activities that Fern Resort offers in the spring and summer.  Our momstown' Amazing Race' was just the challenge to get us running around the incredible property, exploring the sights and working together as a team.  After our delicious dinner in the dining room, we hit the dock for a fun night!

Challenge #1:  The first Amazing Race challenge was a wet one!  Did you know that included in your Fern Resort stay is all unmotorized water sports like kayaking, canoeing and surfing? On the dock by the cottages, where we were all staying, you can borrow the equipment and even let the kids try fishing!

Challenge #2:  From the dock, the second challenge was to make our way up the ropes course and climber and zipline it down to the bottom of the hill!  This was not only an exercise in testing our physical strength but also our ability to act like the kids!  During your family visit at Fern, the kids will love to get some exercise after dinner or even toboggan down the same hill in the winter!

Taking a short break to hit a hole in one is easy at Fern!  We took some great shots of our teams at the adorable miniature golf course by the climber.  Sitting beside the covered trampolines, this is a favourite spot for families.

Challenge #3:  The next stop was to the tennis courts, which are on the other side of the resort near a shuffleboard and chess area.  With free access to the courts during your stay AND the ability to borrow equipment from the sport centre, Fern Resort is a great place for families to try new activities for the first time!

Challenge #4: For our last challenge we hit the beach to build momstown sandcastles with our teams.  The beach is a hidden treasure on the other side of the impressive pool area where you will find two incredible pools, tons of lounge chairs, a kid's wading pool and two hot tubs!  The adjoining beach is where families can spend some time building castles, playing in the sand, taking a dip in the lake or even trying the beach swing set.

If you think that sounds like we saw everything at Fern Resort in one night, you would be wrong!  We didn't even visit the indoor gym or pool, get our nails done at the spa or visit Mary Lou's Billards Lounge or Bergwen's Theatre!
