Button Heart-Shaped Valentine’s Day Card

January 9, 2014momstownRecessNo comments
I have a great collection of buttons left over from a baby shower decoration that I made. When we were playing around in the craft bins, we wanted to try some new ideas for Valentine’s Day. I had seen several ways of using buttons to create a frames canvas for Christmas, so I played around and made this heart shaped creation. This would be great on white canvas, using all read and pink buttons or you could fill in the whole heart.

Materials:

various sizes of buttons in red, pink or white

glue

red or white background or canvas

Directions:

1.  Draw a heart on the centre of the background.

2.  Ask your child to follow along the lines with the buttons to make a button heart.

3.  Fill in the centre or leave it open for a special message.  You can handwrite it a message or even decorate with other craft embellishments!  We love writing "Cute as a Button" in the middle!
