Alphabet crafts are a big part of our Alphabet Play program. Get creative with the lower letter a for airplane.

Alphabet crafts are a staple at momstown in our Alphabet Play programs in communities across Canada. We cover lower and upper case letters and incorporate a fun way to teach letter sounds and motor skills with crafts!

Materials:

  • Construction paper
  • Craft stick or popsicle stick
  • Bead
  • Scissors
  • Glue

a for airplane

Directions:

Cut out airplane wing shapes and a letter 'a' (you will probably need to help your child with the letter to cut out the centre).

a for airplane

Glue the 'a' in the centre and the wings on the side. Glue the craft stick in the middle for the propeller and add a bead to the centre.

You've got an airplane!

An adaptation if your child would like to really see the propeller move, is use a scrapbooking supply grommet to hold a cardstock propeller in place, instead of gluing the whole thing down.
