February 6, 2013momstownReal LifeNo comments
Many momstown communities celebrate Family Day in February – but whether you have the extra day ‘off’ or not, families are always looking for fun ways to play together! Games are a great way to connect with your kids and have fun as a family.

Here are some of momstown Finds favourite family games – with kids of all ages in mind!

Preschoolers

yahtzeeYahtzee from Hasbro comes in many different varieties for preschoolers and their families – there's sure to be a licensed brand that excites your child! This kid-friendly version uses picture instead of numbers, no reading required and it's a quick and fun game perfect for the preschool set.

headbanz gameThe Hedbanz game from Spinmaster is fun for young ones too – each player has a Disney character on their 'hedbanz' and the game is all about asking questions to figure out who's on your head!

whack a moleWhac-a-Mole from Fisher-Price is a mini version of the popular arcade game, with lights, sounds and pop up moles to whack. Great for one or two players to practice their eye-hand coordination!

Older Kids

grossabulary If you've got school-agers, particularly boys into the 'gross' factor, they will LOVE the game of Grossabulary. And they won't realize that they're practicing sight words and sentence building. Comes with word and card sets so that kids can make up the silliest (grossest) sentence using their vocabulary!

The Classics

twisterTwister is a game the whole family can play – any age! Kids will love seeing their parents get twisted up in knots. Kids also practice colour recognition as they play.

jacks melissa and dougAnother classic game is Jacks! This set, by Melissa & Doug, has everything you need to teach kids the classic 'bounce and pick'em up' game. Great to take on the go, it all fits into a wooden box.
