Your kids deserve the best on their birthdays, and that starts with their birthday invitations. Maybe you have bought cards at the party store, made your own or even ordered them online, there are still 5 key steps to getting it right!
1. Pick the theme
Kids (and parents) love having a themed birthday party. You can either start with picking the invitation and designing the theme around it, or pick the theme and find an invitation to match or use a service to design a custom invitation specifically for your party.
2. Leave plenty of time
Be sure you leave enough time to order or create yourself, the invitations that you want and not be rushed. You should mail or deliver them 3-4 weeks before the event and give 2 weeks as the RSVP by deadline.
3. Include the basic information
Don’t forget to include the basics like their name, the date and time, your address, RSVP info including your name and preferred method of them responding, your email and/or phone number. If you are handwriting the invitations be sure to print clearly so that there is no issue if that is a 4 or 9 in your phone number when they are trying to RSVP.
4. Don’t forget an end time
Give a specific start and end time unless you want people to stay all day! This is also helpful for parents who have dropped their kids off, so that they know what time to be back for.
5. Include any specific details
Any important information that you think parents might like to know. i.e. If you are having a pool party, specify that they should bring swimsuits, towels, sunscreen and floaties.
