momstown moms and kids are all a buzz with Olympic Fever! We have been reading about the Olympics, making a torch, playing ring toss and even making flags to decorate! Getting so crafty means getting hungry!
Get 5 white bowls and fill with blue, yellow, black, green, red (image from Kayepants on Flickr)
Bowl Filler Ideas:
Top your english muffins or make round toast and make Olympic Fruit Pizza like this one from from Taste of Home
We love this idea for Fruit Rings (great in lunches for kids or as after school snacks) from our friends at Today I ate a Rainbow.
Snack on popcorn inside this ice cream cone that looks like torch! Love this idea from A Small Snippet.
Make cupcakes using this homemade recipe and decorate with white icing and add 5 rings using blue, yellow, black, green and red Smarties, icing tubes, fruit, lifesavers or other candy. Or you can make 5 different colours of icing like the Gingerbread House did.
Make these amazing brownie-filled pies using Air Heads for ribbons from Crazy for Crust. Don't want to bake a pie from scratch? Use a small individual frozen pie or tart and add the Air Head ribbons for the kids!
Olympic Bagels from Maracay Homes (originally from Anabel Karmel)– looks like egg salad (yellow), olives (black), cucumbers (green), tomatoes (red). I'm not sure about blue? blueberries? blue food colouring in cream cheese? You could even top Pop Crisps with the same toppings for a lower fat and lower carb alternative.
Hope your party win the Olympic gold medal!
